There are several volunteer opportunities for Section members with skills and interests in the following areas to make a positive contribution to the members of the Cincinnati section and the quality community at large. These include:
Economic Case for Quality Representatives - This committee plans and executes meetings with executive-level managers from local companies, where their peers discuss the impact of quality on the bottom line. Deb Hoffer [(513) 683-4320] is the Chairperson, with Mike Shumaker [(513) 376-0585] as the Vice Chair of this group.
Librarian - This person or committee adds to the current library of quality knowledge: articles, presentations, etc.made available to members. Reports to Rick Olano, Communications Liaison, at (513) 985-6054.
ASQ 60 Year Celebration - Seeking committee members with expertise in planning, sponsorships, and advertising. Reports to Rajesh Sharma, Section Vice Chair, at (513) 885-5382.
June Banquet Committee Chair - responsible for planning the annual Section awards banquet, beginning with the one scheduled for June 2008. This is typically a fun evening; past events have included a Monte Carlo night (gambling with funny money, redeemed for raffle tickets for door prizes at the end of the evening), a horse race (this year's event), and a Murder Mystery. Be creative, and put together a banquet theme that will entertain and inspire!
Regional Councilor for the Audit Division - Functions as the primary interface between memberships located in specific geographic regions and the Division senior management; helps provide leadership and overall field management and coordination to ensure that the defined goals fo the Division are met. Call Jim Turner at (513) 758-1655 for details, or email him at jtturner@oraucoc.org.
Don't see anything that excites you? Have an idea of your own? Post your concept on the Member Suggestions forum under "Members Talk Up!" If it fits within the mission of the Section, we'll help you make it happen!
